What Makes Patterson Realty So Different?
In 1971, two Orange
County, California
real estate franchising entrepreneurs came up with the idea of bringing small,
independent “corner” real estate companies together to market their image
collectively. They named their franchise
network, Century 21 Real Estate after the Century 21 Seattle Exposition.
Over the past 35 years, the basic model has remained
fundamentally the same…to bring independent real estate agents and agencies
together to market them under a franchise “umbrella.” However, in these franchises agents still run
individual practices, limited by each agent’s individual skills and experience.
The Patterson Difference
In contrast, at about the
same time, Tom Patterson formed Patterson Realty with the vision of assembling
a group of higher caliber brokers and agents with complementary skills who
could collectively provide expertise and services which individual practitioners
could not match. Paula Patterson joined Tom as the firms managing broker as Patterson
Realty evolved into a distinguished group of experienced, highly productive
sales professionals with a strong moral obligation to the highest ideals,
ethics and standards of care. The firm
has always felt directly accountable for creating a positive experience through
superior quality of service.
Over the past three decades, Patterson Realty has
been a leader in sales and service that has produced one of the largest number
of repeat clients and referral business in the county. Countless satisfied
customers have enjoyed the benefits of this leading edge approach.
In 2007, Wes Burk, a successful broker from The Real
Estate Group, and former president of the San Luis Obispo Association of
Realtors, joined Patterson
to assume the reigns as managing partner.
Wes has picked up
the gauntlet, and is building new, innovative processes that further separate
Patterson from the field.
The management team at Patterson firmly believes
that their biggest asset
goes down the elevator at night…the outstanding brokers, agents and
supporting staff that make up the Patterson organization.
Patterson
people are selected on their integrity, education and experience, and
their ability to work as a team.
An example of how this collaborative team works
to the benefit of Patterson clients, is the “Patterson Pricing Committee.” Unlike single-agent pricing recommendations,
Patterson assembles a team of seasoned Realtors and brokers to collaborate on
each property, and make recommendations on the price range properties are
likely to sell.
This on-target pricing allows clients to price
correctly at marketing launch when properties have their highest value and has
proved immensely effective.
Patterson agents and brokers also work together
to devise unique marketing strategies custom tailored for each client’s
property. Getting the highest price requires innovative marketing
approaches that incorporate thinking outside the box.
Frequently clients comment that working with Patterson feels more
like they are working with a law or accounting firm. We believe that is because we draw in the
collective resources of the agency to address individual client needs.
The best way to understand the Patterson difference is to spend a
few minutes with one of our agents and discuss your own goals and
objectives. The differences are quickly
apparent.
