Steve Beck is a 5th generation San Luis Obispo County native.  Steve attended local schools before entering into the US Army during the Vietnam War.  After returning from military service, Steve attended college at Sonoma State University and graduated with a B.A. in History in 1974.  Steve married his wife, Debbie, later that same year and moved back to San Luis Obispo County to work on the family ranch in Carrisa Plains.  Steve has a son who attends Cal Poly and a daughter who attends Mission College Prep.      Steve has been involved in Agriculture his entire life.  His experience includes viticulture, hay and grain farming, and cattle ranching.  Steve currently owns and operates a vineyard in Creston that he developed in 1999.  Steve also does a variety agriculture construction including out buildings and barn restoration.  Steve has extensive knowledge of San Luis Obispo County, specializing in rural and agriculture properties.   Steve served on the Atascadero Unified School District Board of Trustees for 11 years.  Steve also served as a San Luis Obispo County committee member of the USDA Farm Service Agency for seven years and has been a Farm Bureau member for thirty years, including nine years on the Board of Directors.
